Day 1: Fly to Hanoi, Vietnam
On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure to relax after your journey or take your first stroll through the atmospheric streets of Vietnam's capital.
Day 2: Discover Hanoi
Enjoy a guided tour of Hanoi, taking in the historic Old Quarter, Temple of Literature, Ho Chi Minh complex and some of the city's beautiful lakes and colonial architecture. This evening, enjoy your first taste of traditional Vietnamese cuisine.
Day 3: Hanoi at leisure
Today is yours to explore Hanoi at a more relaxed pace. Browse the markets and fascinating Old Quarter, enjoy a traditional coffee or perhaps take an optional food tour through the city's lively streets.
Day 4: Hanoi to Halong Bay
Travel from Hanoi to spectacular Halong Bay. Board your cruise and sail amongst the towering limestone islands and emerald waters. Enjoy lunch on board before an afternoon of cruising, with opportunities to explore caves or take to the water by kayak.
Day 5: Halong Bay to Hue
Enjoy breakfast and a final morning cruising through Halong Bay before returning to shore. Continue to the airport for your flight south to Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam. Settle into your hotel and enjoy a relaxed evening.
Day 6: Imperial Hue
Explore the fascinating city of Hue, including the magnificent Imperial Citadel and the former royal tombs of the Nguyen dynasty. Later, enjoy time beside the Perfume River before an evening at leisure.
Day 7: Hue to Hoi An
Journey south towards Hoi An, travelling through the spectacular Hai Van Pass with its breathtaking mountain and coastal scenery. Arrive in Hoi An and enjoy an evening stroll through the beautifully illuminated ancient town.
Day 8: Discover Hoi An
Spend the day exploring Hoi An's historic streets, traditional merchant houses, colourful markets and riverside. Perhaps enjoy a local cooking experience, visit a tailor or simply relax in one of the town's many cafés.
Day 9: Hoi An to Ho Chi Minh City
Enjoy a final morning in Hoi An before travelling to Da Nang for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel before an introductory tour of this energetic and fascinating city.
Day 10: Explore Ho Chi Minh City
Discover the highlights of former Saigon, including the Reunification Palace, Central Post Office and historic French Quarter. Visit the bustling Ben Thanh Market before enjoying an evening at leisure.
Day 11: The Mekong Delta
Today you will leave the city behind and travel into the Mekong Delta. Cruise along its waterways, visit local villages and experience the traditional way of life amongst the fruit plantations and rice fields before returning to Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 12: Ho Chi Minh City to Siem Reap, Cambodia
Fly to Siem Reap in Cambodia, gateway to the magnificent Angkor temples. On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Spend the afternoon relaxing or exploring the town, markets and riverside.
Day 13: Angkor Wat & Angkor Thom
Today you will discover the extraordinary temples of Angkor. Visit the magnificent Angkor Wat, explore the ancient city of Angkor Thom and see the remarkable Bayon temple with its enormous carved faces.
Day 14: The temples of Siem Reap
Continue your exploration of Angkor, including the atmospheric jungle temple of Ta Prohm. Enjoy a more relaxed afternoon with time to explore Siem Reap or relax at the hotel before dinner.
Discover Laos and Thailand
Day 15: Siem Reap to Luang Prabang, Laos
Fly north to Luang Prabang in Laos. On arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy your first experience of this peaceful UNESCO-listed town, with its golden temples, colonial architecture and Mekong riverside setting.
Day 16: Discover Luang Prabang
Explore Luang Prabang, visiting the former Royal Palace, Wat Xieng Thong and some of the town's beautiful Buddhist temples. Later, wander through the atmospheric streets and enjoy the relaxed pace of life.
Day 17: Mekong River & Pak Ou Caves
Cruise along the mighty Mekong River to the famous Pak Ou Caves, home to hundreds of Buddha images. Return to Luang Prabang during the afternoon with time to relax and enjoy the town at your own pace.
Day 18: Luang Prabang to Chiang Mai, Thailand
Continue your journey to northern Thailand with a flight to Chiang Mai. On arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy a relaxed evening discovering the restaurants and markets of this historic city.
Day 19: Discover Chiang Mai
Explore Chiang Mai's historic old city and its beautiful temples, including Wat Chedi Luang and Wat Phra Singh. Later, discover the colourful markets and perhaps sample some of the distinctive cuisine of northern Thailand.
Day 20: Chiang Mai & Doi Suthep
Travel into the mountains surrounding Chiang Mai and visit the spectacular Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, perched high above the city. Enjoy the views before returning to Chiang Mai for an afternoon at leisure.
Day 21: Chiang Mai at leisure
Enjoy a relaxed day in Chiang Mai. Explore the markets, take a traditional Thai cooking class, enjoy a spa treatment or simply relax at the hotel. Optional experiences can be arranged to suit individual interests.
Day 22: Chiang Mai to Bangkok
Fly south to Bangkok, Thailand's vibrant capital. On arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy some time to relax before an evening exploring the city or enjoying dinner beside the Chao Phraya River.
Day 23: Bangkok & the Grand Palace
Discover some of Bangkok's most famous sights, including the Grand Palace, Temple of the Emerald Buddha and Wat Pho. Later, take a boat along the Chao Phraya River and experience the contrast between modern Bangkok and its historic waterways.
Day 24: Bangkok's canals & markets
Explore another side of Bangkok with a journey through the city's canals by traditional long-tail boat. Visit colourful markets and local neighbourhoods before returning to the centre of the city.
Day 25: Bangkok at leisure
Today is free to enjoy Bangkok as you wish. Perhaps explore the city's famous shopping districts, visit a rooftop bar, enjoy a traditional Thai massage or simply relax at the hotel.
Day 26: Bangkok & optional experiences
Enjoy another day to discover more of Bangkok. Optional experiences could include a private food tour, Thai cooking class, river cruise or a visit to one of the city's fascinating markets.
Day 27: A final day in Bangkok
Enjoy your final full day in Thailand. Take the opportunity to revisit a favourite area, complete some last-minute shopping or simply relax before our farewell dinner and the end of your journey.
Day 28: Bangkok & return home
Enjoy breakfast and some final free time before your private transfer to the airport for your flight home, bringing your Grand Indochina Adventure through Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand to a close.
